You know my name
Yet you see me no time
You hear my words
Yet you give me no rhyme.
You tell me little reason
Yet you say things on cue
You protect what is valid
Yet live what is not true.
You search for a purpose
Yet you miss what is there
You yearn for the realism
Yet you scorn when it’s here.
You cry alone inside
Yet your play is collected
You scene steal the moment
Yet turn good to rejected.
You can ignore love today
Yet look for it when you sleep
You can pretend its right there
Yet the pain you always keep.
You deny one who holds you
Yet so cherished in his heart
You justify what you need
Yet you blow off our start.
One thing is a real thing
One guy is not quitting
One dude is a warrior
One girl for his fitting.

Wow, Charlie. That’s one lucky girl…I hope I got it right!

Hi Corinne –
No girl in my life, silly, but you’re right about the poem being about a girl a long time ago. This is remembered rewrite from a poem I did, lost, and rediscovered in the back of my mind. 🙂

Excellent poem Charlie, Winners never quit and quitters never win. Win her heart and live happily ever after…

Hey Sulekha –
“Winners never quit and quitters never win.” I don’t have a girl to win over any heart of hers, lol. BUT, there was a time when a portion of the original poem was largely based on your comments above. Thank you for that. 🙂

Hi Debra –
She was a confused mother playing games with guys she shouldn’t have been playing. She was also quite stunning and grabbed a hold of my attention for a short time. I’m glad nothing transpired for a moment in time, I was latched by her spell. 🙂

Hello Brenda –
I’m so happy you enjoy my poem. This is a re-write today from a poem I had recalled from years ago. I had lost it in a computer crash so I traced some of it back from memory. Super comments for me to hear. Thank you so much. 🙂

Glad you managed to trace the original back to memory. It was well worth the time to piece it back together. Great poem)

Hi Jessica –
I used to have so many written works when I was younger. Most are all gone now. A few survive today. Thank you for enjoying my poem. 🙂

Been missing you much Brian. I pray everything’s well. Your words are light. She must have been so much influence as you write about her constantly… Lovely poem 🙂

You know Charlie we humans are never satisfied with what we have. We keep yearning even when we have it all. But I am sure glad you dont look at things that way. You dont quit, you dont give up. Liked your style of writing this poetry.

Hey Rimly –
That is human nature isn’t it Rimly…to reach for something…to attain it…and then not be satisfied with it! I’m not sure I really have a poetry writing style or if there even is a name to the erratic style I write with. However, I’m very happy you like my style and my poems. 🙂
